We would like to briefly tell you about our history and that of our founder Roy. This will help to reassure you that we are the best company to undertake your proposed project.
The manging director and founder of resindriveways.co.uk joined a property maintenance company in 1986 after leaving William Parker Grammar School. After 5 years working there he went on to peruse his childhood dream by joining the British Merchant Navy.
During his time as a Petty Officer on voyages around the world, especially in the hotter regions (Australia, New Zealand, and even the Mediterranean) he was surprised to see many properties had resin bonded driveways, paths and patios, and even anti-slip surfaces around swimming pools. What did these countries have in common, that they were now experiencing? Extreme heat and of course with global warming this was increasing.
After 7 years of home sickness in 2002 our founder came home and established Above Board Limited Property Maintenance.
It was at this time our he visited a prospective customer. The customer so loved her old gravel drive but found the constant maintenance of constantly weed and raking to much work. Not trusting a tarmac drive, the customer believed she had no other option other than to accept one of those extortionate estimates she had been given for block paving (although not one estimate included the area size of block paving to be laid).
So, you can imagine her delight when she was informed that there were alternatives to tarmac and block paving, and went on to explain about the resin bonded and resin bonded surfaces and the fact that you can have a great range of stone aggregates to suit your property and its surrounding environment, which would not melt and requires almost no maintenance!
Of course, he won the contract and after a few days of investigating and long distant phone calls our founder laid his first resin bonded driveway.
Later going on to be a pioneer in the industry in the UK and installing many more resin bonded and resin bound surfaces.
