We would like to briefly tell you about our history and that of our founder Roy Potter who has helped pioneer the Resin Driveway Industry. This will help to reassure you that we are the Best and Original Resin Driveway company to undertake your new Driveway, Path or Patio project.
After leaving William Parker Grammer School in Hastings, East Sussex The manging director and founder of Resindriveways.co.uk Roy Potter joined a property maintenance company in 1986. After 5 years working there he went on to peruse his childhood dream by joining the British Merchant Navy.
During his time as a Petty Officer on voyages around the world, especially in the hotter regions (Australia, New Zealand, and the Mediterranean) he was surprised to see on many public areas using a system not to dissimilar to Pebble dashing and which you would expect to see on sides of buildings and houses actually stuck on to the ground in these places. What did these countries all have in common, and that we are now experiencing? Extreme heat and of course global warming which in turn was melting the tarmac in these hot countries.
After 11 years of home sickness and in 2002 our founder came home and established Above Board Property Maintenance.
It was at this time he visited a prospective customer. The customer so loved her old gravel drive but found the constant maintenance of constantly weeding and raking to much work. Not wanting a tarmac drive, the customer believed she had no other option other than to accept one of those extortionate estimates she had been given for block paving (although not one estimate included the area size of block paving to be laid). So, you can imagine her delight when Roy informed her that there were alternatives to tarmac and block paving, and went on to explain about the resin bonded surfaces he
had seen in Australia and the fact that you can have a great range of stone aggregates to suit your property and its surrounding environment, which would not melt, or slide down the strange piece of concrete that she wanted to keep as a feature and that required almost no maintenance!
Of course, he won the contract and after a few days of investigating and long distant phone calls our founder laid his first resin bonded driveway.

Later going on to be a pioneer in the Resin Driveway industry in the UK and installing many more resin bonded and resin bound surfaces as well as supplying the Resin Driveway industry with a huge range of quality Resin Bound Gravel colours and premium resins driveway kits.
Incorporating this innovative approach to driveways, our founder also saw an opportunity to expand into selling and supplying Resin Driveway Kits and materials online from his Rye Harbour site. Particularly focusing on making Resin Bound gravel and Paving more accessible to the industry and DIYers alike. He applied the same principles of offering practical, cost-effective Resin Bound solutions to create an online platform (resindriveways.co.uk) where customers could conveniently buy Resin Driveway Kits as well as installation services covering all of the U.K.
Today the site at Rye Harbour Road processes around half of all the Resin Bound aggregates supplied to the U.K and even back to Europe. Small ships called Coasters (and which our Founder spent many happy years serving on ) bring aggregates in from all over the U.K and Europe up the River Rother to Rye Harbours port to be unloaded and taken the short distant across the road to site where the aggregates undergo a rigorous grading and 2x cleaning process then finally heat dried and bagged. This process cleans the aggregate of all contamination of salts, earth and dust to leave a cleaned and dried aggregate ready to be used in the Resin Driveway Industry and assuring that weather you are Trade/Builder or Home DIYer your Resin bound Driveway kits and installations are of the highest Quality and conformity
